Malin Rangers - Travellers

Rangers enjoyed home advantage for the first time this season entertaining one of the promotion favorites.  Rangers started brightly playing some good football & it was no surprise when they took the lead through Dean Baggerley who found the target for the second consecutive game.  Taking advantage of some hesitant defending he got hold of the ball & made no mistake with a low shot into the opponents goal.  Travellers one chance of note in the first half was well saved by Davies in the Rangers goal.  At the interval Rangers still held their one goal advantage.

In the second half Travellers came into the game much more.  This resulted in sustained pressure on the Rangers goal for much of the half prompting some fine saves from Davies & some resolute defending to keep Rangers in the lead.   As Travellers went all out for the equaliser gaps appeared in their back line. Rangers could well have added to the lead with more clinical finishing although this would have been harsh on the visitors.  At the final whistle the first half goal from Baggerley still separated the sides & Rangers recorded their second win of the season.
